Our Story

It was a fateful day nearly eight years ago when a newly-hired director of analytics from marketing sat next to a sales manager at a B2B Fortune 500 internal staff meeting.

“What do you do that’s useful besides printing brochures? My customers throw them away,” said the sales manager. Wow, what a welcome.

“I don’t have anything to do with printing brochures. You see, I develop statistical models that help find new customers, identify best times to call customers, and recommend products that customers are most likely to buy. We can give that to the sales reps. In fact we just built several models.”

“Show me. Interesting. Who else has seen this? No, not in marketing, I meant sales. No one? Could I try this out for my team? Just email the file.”

So the analytics director did. And within the first month of using the statistical data, the sales manager’s team went from being ranked #12 out of fifteen teams (though he will never admit it) to #2.

“Gotta be a fluke,” said his fellow managers. “Let’s try it again.” Same data, same result next month.

From that humble beginning of 25 sales reps, the Fortune 500 sales analytics practice grew to thousands of reps across several business segments, delivering sustained incremental sales across the company’s sales operations.

Later, having seen and enjoyed the benefits, these sales reps encouraged us to take the analytics to others. They became our inspiration to build sales processes with the power of predictive analytics embedded in CRM. The pioneering sales manager became our seed investor. And that analytics director became the founder of Valgen.

Today, we have established partnerships, clients and solutions that deliver incrementally better results for hundreds of sales reps. But like that first pilot, our work is only beginning. We invite you to see for yourself how the lives of your sales people can be transformed.
